Gunna's Diamond Cross and Shaboozey's Silver: The Jewellery at the 2026 VMAs

Gunna's Diamond Cross and Shaboozey's Silver: The Jewellery at the 2026 VMAs

Gunna and Shaboozey shared a stage at the 2026 VMAs for "High Noon". They didn't share a jewellery rulebook.

On 27 September at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, the two turned up with completely different ideas of what a man's jewellery should do. One let a single diamond cross carry the whole look. The other ran silver through everything he wore. Both worked, and between them they've left a lot of people asking the same thing: which way would I go?

What Was Gunna Wearing at the VMAs?

Gunna kept it clean. A tan suit, and one large diamond-encrusted cross chain worn as the centrepiece. No stack, no second pendant, nothing competing for attention.

That restraint is what makes it work. The suit is soft and neutral, so the cross does all the talking. When everything around a loud piece stays quiet, it reads as intentional rather than flashy.

What Was Shaboozey Wearing at the VMAs?

Shaboozey went the other way. He wore Chrome Hearts: a black leather blazer and vest over a white shirt, a slime-green tie, cropped trousers and pointed boots. Then came the silver. Silver jewellery, grills and an oversized belt buckle.

It leans Western, and plenty of outlets picked it as one of the standout menswear looks of the night. Where Gunna's look is built around one piece, Shaboozey's is built around one metal.

Ice or Silver: Which One Is You?

Same stage, two moods.

  • The single statement. One piece with plenty of space around it. Best with simple clothes: tailoring, a plain knit, a white tee.
  • The full metal. Several silver pieces that belong together. Best with darker, textured clothes like leather, denim and black tailoring, where silver stands out.

Neither is the right answer. It comes down to whether you want one piece to be the point, or the whole look to carry a theme.

How Do You Wear a Cross Chain Like Gunna?

The iced cross is the louder of the two looks, which is exactly why it needs the calmest styling.

  • Make it the only pendant. One cross, no competition.
  • Keep the clothes simple. Neutral tailoring or a plain tee gives the stones room.
  • Wear it longer. Let it sit on the chest, outside the shirt, rather than tucked under a collar.
  • Match your metals. Gold cross, gold watch. Silver cross, silver rings.

Our ICED Cross is set with AAA-grade stones across the whole face, so it catches the light the same way. If you want the shine with a little more restraint, the ICED Cross 2.0 uses rows of set stones on a cleaner frame. Both come in gold and silver, and our guide to what a cross necklace means covers why so many men wear one.

How Do You Wear Silver Like Shaboozey?

You don't need the grills or the belt buckle to get the idea. The principle is simple: pick silver and let it run through the whole look.

  • Commit to one metal. All silver, nothing else.
  • Build in layers. A chain, a couple of rings, a bracelet.
  • Go darker underneath. Black, charcoal and leather make silver stand out.
  • Vary the weights. One heavier piece, the rest lighter, so it doesn't feel like armour.

A 4mm Cuban chain in silver is the easiest anchor. Add a ring or two from our men's silver rings, or the Royal Signet Ring if you want something with weight, and build from there.

Gunna and Shaboozey VMAs Jewellery: FAQs

What chain was Gunna wearing at the 2026 VMAs?

Gunna wore a large diamond-encrusted cross chain, styled as the centrepiece of a tan suit. It was the only pendant he wore, which is why it carried the whole look.

What did Shaboozey wear to the 2026 VMAs?

Shaboozey wore Chrome Hearts: a black leather blazer and vest, a white shirt, a slime-green tie and cropped trousers, finished with pointed boots, silver jewellery, grills and an oversized belt buckle.

Can you wear a cross chain with a suit?

Yes. Keep the suit neutral, make the cross the only pendant, and let it sit on the outside of the shirt. That's exactly the approach Gunna took at the VMAs.

Should men wear silver or gold jewellery?

Either works. Silver tends to suit darker clothes and cooler tones, while gold suits warmer tones and neutrals. What matters most is sticking to one metal across the look.

Where to Start

If one piece is more your speed, start with the cross. Our full cross collection covers plain and iced, in gold and silver. If you'd rather build a whole look, start with a silver chain and add as you go. The sterling silver collection is a good place to look around.

Two artists, one stage, two completely different rules. The only one that matters is the one that feels like yours.
